It’s been an exciting day here – at long last, Phase One is underway.
Over the weekend, I spoke with every Pastor of the Parishes which will make up the Phase One Collaboratives. It was very heartening to find so much support and generosity out there.
Go here to see all the information on the Phase One Collaboratives. I am very pleased with the list. It is solid, diverse, and pulsing with great possibilities. We’re going to learn a lot from this.
Just as an example, four of the twelve Collaboratives are multi-lingual, with Mass being provided in English and at least one other language. Two of the Collaboratives are tri-lingual (English and Spanish and Polish in Salem, English and Haitian Creole and Congolese in Lynn). Six have schools. Two have two schools. One is inner city. One is rural. Five are urban, five suburban.
We met with press this morning. I spoke with the Presbyteral Council at 1:00PM. We are doing The Good Catholic Life at 4:00PM on WQOM (1060AM).
Over the coming weeks, Sister Pat and I will be out in the Parishes, starting to talk with Pastors, Staffs, Councils, and the Parishes themselves, in whatever format the Pastor would find helpful.
Keep us in your prayers, please, as we move forward!

I’m glad to see the progress. But I don’t see any mention in the “timeline” of a phase two? Honestly, I think most people just want to know what’s going to happen at their own parishes.
Hi Kate,
You can find the planned timeline on page 3 of the Disciples in Mission pastoral plan. Here is the link: http://www.disciplesinmission.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Disciples-in-Mission.pdf
