Catholic Faith Essentials

We’re getting very close now to the announcement of the Phase One Collaboratives.  Watch this sight next week – we’ll keep you up to date.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already signed up to participate in the Catholic Faith Essentials courses, you should do so – go to this link to do so.  The Catholic Faith Essentials program is being offered by Bishop Kennedy’s Office.  The courses take place live on Monday nights, at 7:00PM.  You can come to the Pastoral Center to participate in person, or you can watch them streamed live, and can participate, at BostonCatholicLive.com.  If you miss it live, or if you want to watch it again, you can find the archives at YearOfFaithBoston.org.  I’ll be there, and am looking forward to it as a great way to mark the start of Phase One of the implementation of the Pastoral Plan.

And, please keep Bishop Deeley in your prayers.  We will be having a great celebration of his Ordination tomorrow – you can watch it on CatholicTV, or listen at 1060AM – Catholic Radio.

My prayers are with the dedicated Priests and Pastors of this Archdiocese. Also my prayers are with the people. I agree with the many who feel this plan is going to hurt good people and further weaken the Church. Normally an optimist, I see a potential disaster here. These Pastors have rights under canon law. This plan tempts good men to disobedience of promises made to God. Our Priest deserve our support. Trying to increase the flock by crucifying our Pastors is really a mistake. Taking the rights from Pastors and then stretching thin the limited number of Priests–making these Priests responsible for more work with less authority to be effective…is so obviously a flawed plan. And how do you encourage new Vocations by showing such lack of fatherly paternal care for the Priests..how Msgr? How can you treat your Priests this way, your Eminence?
